Civilizations over the span of time have stayed close to nature when it comes to their health. Only in the last hundred years have humans strayed away from the natural methods they used to keep healthy and in tip-top shape. From herbal remedies to sound healing here are 5 ways the ancients stayed at their peak.

Crystals: When you think of crystals you may think, what could a rock do to benefit me, well crystals have been used in almost every ancient civilization from the ancient Egyptians to the ancient Indians and across the other side of the world to the southern Americans.
As we now know everything in the universe is in constant motion and has a vibration to it. You can either be vibrating at a low frequency which is harmful or at a higher frequency which is beneficial. Crystals vibrate at higher frequencies than your body needs to be pulsing at. Having crystals in your bedroom, workplace, or even on your body has significant benefits when it comes to your overall health.
The ancient Egyptians knew this and used it to their advantage. Some chambers in the famous pyramids of Egypt have crystals embedded in the limestone walls. People that step inside these chambers talk about experiencing feelings of happiness, calmness of the mind, and a general feeling of euphoria.
Science has finally caught up to this and can now prove it's not just a fad, but crystals actually do have beneficial properties for your mind and bodily health.
Mediation: Meditation has been used for thousands of years for calming the mind which leads to less stress, clearer decision-making, and better health in general.
Even though we still don’t fully understand meditation, we have figured out quite a lot from a scientific perspective. Here are some of the benefits.
It sharpens your attention, over time creates resistance to stress, increases compassion, and reduces anxiety and depression. Long-term meditation is anti-inflammatory, improves memory, slows down or even prevents some neurodegenerative diseases, decreases blood pressure, reduces pain, and even slows down aging.

Herbs: Even though herbs are still used today we don’t give them the respect they deserve and seem to forget the benefits they can bring you.
Herbs were used by every ancient civilization in everyday life as a way to solve everyday problems with the understanding that nature has a solution for every problem. One of the oldest books humans have created is an Ayurvedic book which can be traced to 5000 years ago. This book talks about a wide range of herbs to use and mix to help with a range of problems and to stay as healthy as possible.
It is said that herbs were used for everything from curing sickness, recovering muscles, and men's and women's libido, to reducing stress and anxiety, stabilizing blood pressure, boosting energy levels, helping to boost the immune system, treating cuts and wounds, treating dandruff, curing hair loss, and even inducing deep sleep and home remedies for skin conditions like eczema and acne.
Herbs can be used as flavouring for your favourite food dishes or even mixed into juice. In modern times people are more likely to take them in capsules as a supplement.
Frequency: Ancient civilizations had mastered the use of certain sounds and noises for their benefit that today's society still cannot understand.
The famous Nikola Tesla once said ‘’if you want the secrets of the universe think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration’’.
Frequency can have a major impact on your health for good or for harm while also having many more uses.
The people who occupied central and east Asia thousands of years ago believed in sound so much that they based their language on certain sounds and frequencies. This language is Sanskrit. Sanskrit has been proven to de-calcify your pineal gland just by speaking this language!
Scientific research into the effects of sound on the human body showed that saying mantras in Sanskrit relaxed them, re-activated their pineal gland, and raised their body's vibration.
This may all sound a bit far-fetched, but Dr. Masaru Emoto from Japan did a study and then wrote a book called Hidden Messages in Water in 2004 which became a New York Times number one seller. He found that photographing the waves and shapes in the water created by the different words spoken and written can have an effect on our bodies. This is because about 60% of our bodies are water.
Words with good intentions formed aesthetically pleasing structures in the water while words with bad or angry intentions formed disfigured and unpleasant structures in the water.
There was a practice used by the ancient Egyptians called sound healing, in which certain tones of the voice were believed to harmonize the body. The Tibetans also have the singing bowl which has the same effect but is done by rubbing the edges of a specially made bowl with a certain stick.
In modern times Dr. Raymond Rife created a machine in the 1930s. He called it the Rife machine; it emits certain frequencies which can be changed depending on the need. Rife implanted cancer-causing bacteria in rats. He put the bacteria into 411 of them, created a tumour, then with his Rife machine, successfully destroyed the tumour in all 411 rats.
Solfeggio frequencies are another aspect of modern frequency knowledge. The Solfeggio frequencies are 9 frequencies of varying frequencies that can be listened to. These frequencies will get your body in sync with the essential frequencies needed for health and happiness.
The 9 frequencies are 174hz which relieves pain and stress, 285hz for healing tissue and organs, 396hz used for eliminating grief, fear, and guilt, 417hz creates new starts by removing negative energy from your space, 528hz is one of the most powerful frequencies known as the love frequency it activates your imagination, intuition, the intention all while awakening your spirituality, 639hz is used for promoting connection in relationships or helping repair fractured relationships with loved ones, 741hz for problem-solving, bringing mental clarity and even helps with chronic pain, 852hz will re-balance your spirituality, 963hz known as the frequency of the gods and the highest of the 9 Solfeggio frequencies creates oneness and unity with the spiritual world.
Smudging: Smudging is the burning of sacred herbs or of a resin either in ceremony or in day-to-day applications to cleanse the body and remove negative energy. This is also known as the burning of incense and/or sage. This method was used to bless people or places of importance. Native Americans, Ancient Egyptians, East Asian civilizations, Ancient Indians, and Australian Aborigines understood the upside of smudging and used it to their benefit.
Smudging is proven to help with stress by stimulating certain receptors associated with stress, boosts your mood, improves the quality of sleep while reducing waking throughout the night, and has compounds that help to put your body in your natural sleep cycle, enhance memory and concentration, antimicrobial properties that seem to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses that are airborne which will purify the air around the incense or sage being burnt, insect repellent, used in aromatherapy by releasing a smooth aroma which releases chemicals in our brain which help modulate neurotransmitters and just used as a general air freshener without the nasty chemicals.

In conclusion, it is clear that ancient civilizations had a deep understanding and appreciation for the role that nature played in maintaining health and well-being. From the use of crystals, meditation, herbs, frequency, and water therapy, these ancient cultures employed a variety of natural remedies to stay at their peak. While modern society may have strayed from these methods in favor of more conventional treatments, it is important to recognize the potential benefits of these ancient practices and to consider incorporating them into our own lives as a means of improving our overall health and well-being.
